The absence of mind care can lead to chemical imbalances in the brain. These disorders are also caused by traumatic experiences and situations that we deal with.

Maintaining good mental health allows you to be in control of life’s situations. Good mental health also helps you to deal with difficult situations.

Here are six tips on taking care of your mental health:

1. Tolerate One Another. – We are all different and should accept this fact and also accept one another differences. We are less likely to have so many arguments when we accept one another opinions and ideas.

2. Appreciate Family and Friends. – Spend quality time with them.

3. Maintain a healthy lifestyle. - Always eat healthy foods and exercise regularly. Get regular sleep and rest. Don’t use drugs and alcohol and stop smoking.

4. Be Happy.- Always look for the positive side of any situation.

5. Take Time to Relax. – Learn how to unwind after a long day. This is a good way to prevent anxiety.

6. Manage Your Time Well. – This will prevent stress. Make a schedule for yourself and stick to it.

Unfortunately, depression and other mental disorders affect children also. Parents must learn to communicate with their children and this includes listening. Children should always feel appreciated. If they commit mistakes, explain so they will learn from them.

Teach them a sense of responsibility by letting them solve problems as well as make decisions.

Tell the importance of self-worth and chastise them without causing them to feel unloved or unworthy.

The key to taking care of your mental health is being happy and in control of our lives. Once we know how to take control, we are able to cope with any and all situations that come our way.
